Vercel's changelog adds an experimental vision version of DeepSeek V4 Flash to AI Gateway, the service through which Vercel offers models. An application can send an image and a text question in the same request, such as a question about a screenshot, picture or chart, using the model identifier deepseek/deepseek-v4-flash-vision-exp. The addition expands what information a request can contain. Vercel marks this version experimental through the -exp suffix in the model ID, expects its behavior to change, and advises keeping a fallback model configured if it is on a production path.
