MCJev is a public Minecraft PvP server where players fight Jev, an AI opponent controlled entirely by DJev, a diffusion language model that scores every possible move in a single forward pass rather than generating text token by token. This lets Jev decide its next action in about 24ms, versus roughly 60ms for the same model served on stock vLLM, letting it make close to 40 decisions per second during fast fights; across 290 recorded rounds against real players, Jev won about 83%.
Why it made the leaderboard
Shows a diffusion language model making real-time PvP decisions at up to 40 per second by scoring all options in one forward pass, a concrete alternative to autoregressive generation for latency-critical agent control.
