About
Mati is a local guardrail layer for Claude Code and Codex that lets engineers encode product constraints and hidden context so coding agents cannot make changes that look reasonable but break rules they were never told about. It runs locally, is Apache-2.0 licensed, and exposes both MCP and CLI interfaces so it can plug into existing agent workflows.
Why it made the leaderboard
It gives teams a way to make tacit engineering constraints explicit and enforceable for coding agents, reducing silent violations during delegated work.
