React for Agents: Astro Creator Brings Hooks to his Meta-Harness, Flue

Context

Flue 2 is an framework that lets developers change an agent's available tools as work progresses. Its agent function runs again before each model call, and reusable functions called hooks attach capabilities according to the current state. The creator interview explains why this matters for workflows that cannot be configured entirely in advance.

A support workflow, for example, can make account-management tools available after customer verification. The release also demonstrates assigning different tools to successive workflow steps. Developers can encode those transitions in the agent's configuration, so the model receives capabilities appropriate to the current stage.
