Context

Moonshot AI's Kimi K3 model is now available through Amazon Bedrock, AWS's managed service for calling third-party foundation models through a single API. Bedrock applies AWS's own access permissions, encryption, and audit logging to every call, and this listing supports explicit , where a developer marks the reusable part of a prompt so it is not reprocessed on every request.

For a team already running on AWS, that means coding, document analysis, and longer workflows built on Kimi K3 can sit inside their existing AWS security and compliance setup instead of a separate integration with Moonshot's own API. The tweet does not give Bedrock pricing or compare it with Moonshot's direct API, so cost differences are not established here.

Terms in this piece · Glossary
  • prompt caching — Reusing the model's processed form of a repeated prompt prefix so subsequent calls skip re-reading it, cutting cost and latency substantially.
  • AI agent — An AI system that doesn't just answer once but works toward a goal in a loop — taking actions, reading the results, and deciding what to do next.
