This browser-based tool loads a ZIP containing Shapefile (.shp, .shx, .dbf) components and renders the polygons, lines, and points directly on a map, with all processing done client-side so no file is uploaded to a server. It converts the data to GeoJSON in WGS84 for download, and when a ZIP lacks a .prj file it lets the user pick between modern datums (WGS84/JGD2000/JGD2011) and the legacy Tokyo Datum, since coordinates from either datum look identical but can differ by roughly 464 meters in central Tokyo.
Why it made the leaderboard
It saves GIS-adjacent developers from silently mislocating data by hundreds of meters when public datasets ship without projection files, without needing to install QGIS.
