Context
Upstage's Evalverse puts several language-model testing tools behind one interface, so requesting an does not require operating each tool separately. Its architecture description says existing evaluation frameworks such as lm-evaluation- and FastChat are added as submodules (plug-in components), connectors hold their evaluation scripts, an evaluator runs the requested tests on a compute cluster, and a database stores the results.
Users can request tests through a Slack bot and retrieve reports comparing selected models and criteria. The chat interface handles requesting and reporting; the configured evaluation infrastructure still performs the computation. Upstage says Slack was the only chat platform supported at the time, so the no-code route depends on that setup.
- eval — A repeatable test for AI quality — a set of tasks plus scoring — used the way software teams use test suites, because model output is too variable to judge by eyeballing.
- agent harness — The scaffolding around a model that turns it into a working agent — the loop, the tools it can call, and the rules for when to stop.
- benchmark — A standard public test set for comparing AI models — the shared scoreboards behind every "model X beats model Y" claim.
