Context
NVIDIA describes an engineer-guided coding improving an endoscopic-video application by measuring and removing dashboard overhead. The project reused an existing segmentation model and sample video, with model weights unchanged. Engineers set successive goals, while OpenAI's Codex implemented changes through the same command-line tools the engineers could inspect and repeat. The workflow is documented in the Holoscan article.
Across five trials on the same system, reported rendered throughput rose from 204.0 to 306.9 frames per second and mean application-path latency fell from 4.891 to 3.247 milliseconds. still ran on every frame. These measurements concern an engineering prototype processing sample footage, rather than clinical performance.
