Context

On August 18, 2026, Anthropic extended Claude Code's temporary 50% increase in weekly usage limits through August 31. The quoted earlier announcement had set August 19 as the endpoint for Pro, Max, Team and seat-based Enterprise users. This was an extension of an existing allowance. Anthropic expressed hope that the increase could become permanent, while citing demand and possible capacity constraints. The commitment in this announcement therefore ends on August 31; it does not establish the allowance available under a plan after that date. Capacity explanation.
