They lied...

A video argues that Anthropic's announced 25% increase to Claude Code weekly limits amounts to a decrease of about 17% relative to the promotional allowance. The arithmetic follows from Anthropic's own description on its help-center page: a promotion that raised weekly limits by 50% ran from May 13 through September 13, 2026, and from September 14, 2026 weekly limits are 25% higher than they were before the promotion, for Pro, Max, Team and seat-based Enterprise plans (the promotion covered legacy seat-based Enterprise, not Free or consumption-based Enterprise seats).

Taking the pre-promotion limit as 1.00, the promotion raised it to 1.50 and the September 14 limit is 1.25. That is roughly 17% below the promotional level (1.25 divided by 1.50 is about 0.83) while still 25% above the original. Both statements are true, so whether the change feels like an increase or a cut depends on which baseline a user has been working with. The calculation compares relative percentages of the same weekly limit; it does not say how much work any plan can actually do.
