Context

Cua's Windows driver, part of Cua Driver, selects an input method according to the application and the requested action. Its May 2026 technical description explains that the driver first tries accessibility controls, which can address a button or field directly, then uses other Windows input routes when necessary.

In the default background mode, an action that cannot be delivered without taking foreground control returns an explicit failure. The calling must request foreground input for that action. The agent's cursor is a visual record painted by the driver, separate from the user's pointer; whether an action interrupts the user depends on the input route the application accepts.
