About
Sommelier is an Excel add-in paired with a relay server that lets an AI coding agent (the author tested pi, opencode, and codex) work directly inside a live spreadsheet alongside the user. It targets users who don't want to use Microsoft Copilot, who prefer a local model for security reasons, or whose agent already has access to sensitive personal data; it isn't published to the Microsoft add-in marketplace but can be sideloaded.
Why it made the leaderboard
Gives agent harnesses outside Microsoft Copilot direct pair-programming access to a live Excel session instead of only file-based import and export.
