Context
Ant Group's Ling 3.0 Flash Fin is an model fine-tuned specifically for financial analysis rather than general use. On Finance v2, Vals AI reports it scores 54.9% at $0.045 per task, framed as strong specifically among budget-priced models rather than against frontier general models.
This follows Ant Group's earlier release of the base model, Ling-3.0-flash-Fin, a model with 124 billion total and 5.1 billion active parameters. Artificial Analysis separately found the base model scoring close to MiniMax-M2.7 on finance and accounting benchmarks despite using roughly half the active parameters, and Ant open-sourced it alongside a 123-task finance benchmark built with CICC.
- open weights — A model whose trained parameters are published for anyone to download and run — unlike API-only models you can access but never possess.
- AI agent — An AI system that doesn't just answer once but works toward a goal in a loop — taking actions, reading the results, and deciding what to do next.
- mixture-of-experts — A model built from many specialist sub-networks where only a few activate per token, giving big-model capability at small-model running cost.
- benchmark — A standard public test set for comparing AI models — the shared scoreboards behind every "model X beats model Y" claim.
