Context
A website visit can switch between a person and an automated assistant, so a single human-or-bot check can miss what happens later. Cloudflare says its Precursor system continuously evaluates browser behavior and has observed suspicious activity emerging mid-session, alongside transitions between human and activity. Its account develops the approach introduced in the Precursor launch.
The intended consequence is more selective access: a shopping assistant carrying out a customer's request need not receive the same treatment as abusive automation. Cloudflare reported 206 million events across 73,438 website zones during one day. Those figures establish the scale of observation, not a measured detection accuracy.

- eval — A repeatable test for AI quality — a set of tasks plus scoring — used the way software teams use test suites, because model output is too variable to judge by eyeballing.
