Our decision on Cursor following its acquisition by SpaceX

OpenAI said it is ending its partnership with Cursor following the coding editor's acquisition by SpaceX. Under its proposal, Cursor's direct access to OpenAI's models would end on November 12, as set out in its published decision.

A related post by thsottiaux says the decision "boils down to trust" and lists what continues: developers can still use their own OpenAI API key, and OpenAI will keep providing access through its IDE extensions for Cursor. The affected arrangement is therefore the model supply that Cursor provides itself, while those two direct routes remain.
