Claude Projects gives related conversations a shared foundation of reference material and instructions. In its June 2024 launch announcement, Anthropic described adding documents such as style guides, code and interview transcripts to a project, then specifying how Claude should respond. At launch, Projects were available to Claude.ai Pro and Team customers.
The useful change is that a team can organize the background for recurring work in one place. A writing project can carry its style guidance, while a technical project can carry relevant code and role-specific instructions. Team users could also share selected conversation snapshots, making examples of useful work available to colleagues.
