Introducing Runway Api For Gen 4 Images

Runway's May 16, 2025 announcement made its Gen-4 Image model, including a mode that generates new images from supplied reference images, available through the Runway API. Developers can submit visual references through the API and build the generated images into their own apps, products and websites. API announcement.

Runway lists example uses, among them virtual try-on, game assets generated from a few references, custom creative tools, and an interior-design use case that starts from an empty room and uses furniture references to explore layouts. The useful capability is incorporating supplied visual material into an application-specific generation workflow.
