Context
Browserbase announced that its customers can give browsing agents access to credentials in their existing 1Password vault, so people do not have to keep a separate credential system for agents. In its announcement, Browserbase splits identity into three parts: Web Bot Auth, its earlier work on how agents prove who they are; credentials and two-factor access, which this 1Password partnership addresses; and role-based access control, which governs what an agent may do. Browserbase calls the last piece critical for enterprise adoption, wanting oversight of large transactions without constant approval prompts, and says it is building for it. So the announced integration covers access to credentials, while rules about which actions an agent may take after signing in remain work Browserbase describes as in progress.
