Cohere's Command A+ combines image and text inputs with reasoning and tool useA model's ability to call external functions — run code, search the web, edit files — instead of only generating text.Full definition → in a model that organizations can deploy privately. The May 20, 2026 release brought capabilities previously spread across the Command family into one set of downloadable weights under Apache 2.0.
Its architecture activates only part of the model during processing: 25 billion of its 218 billion parameters. Cohere also provides reduced-precision versions and says the four-bit configuration can run on one B200 or two H100 accelerators. Those hardware conditions make the deployment claim concrete: the release targets organizations able to operate server-class AI hardware.
