GPT-Image 2.5 is now on Runway.

Runway added OpenAI's GPT Image 2.5 to its platform as two selectable modes: Flare, described as faster and built for everyday iteration, and Sunburst, built for precision editing and the highest fidelity. Both names match the two model variants OpenAI itself shipped under GPT Image 2.5, so Runway is exposing the same underlying models rather than building its own image editor.

Artificial Analysis separately benchmarked those two variants and found they take the top two spots on both its text-to-image and image-editing leaderboards at the prior GPT Image 2 pricing, with the largest gains over the previous version in composition and framing and in editing text or symbols within an image. For Runway users, the practical effect is not needing a separate app to access whichever of the two behaviors, speed or precision, a given edit calls for.
