Context
Runway's server lets compatible assistants request images and videos during an existing conversation. The launch article describes supplying a product URL, reference image or text prompt, with the generated media returned in the same window.
MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, supplies the connection between the assistant and the media service. This lets someone working on a website or marketing project ask their assistant for visual assets alongside the other work, while Runway handles the generation.
