AI Gateway now supports team and project spend budgets

Vercel's AI Gateway can stop further requests when a team or project exhausts its spending allowance. Each request must pass every applicable budget, so spare capacity under one limit does not override an exhausted limit elsewhere. Email alerts serve a different purpose: they notify recipients as spending crosses thresholds but do not themselves block requests. Release details.

The authentication method determines which budgets apply. Vercel's documentation says project budgets cover requests using credentials issued to that project's deployments; ordinary API-key spending is not attributed to a project. Spending through a team's own provider credentials is excluded from these budgets. A project limit therefore covers a specific billing path. Budget scope documentation.
