Context
Cursor's Origin platform uses a Git storage system called Continuity that treats a durable log of changes as the authoritative record. The log is a write-ahead log in S3-compatible object storage; Cursor says it never acknowledges a push until it is fully persisted, while repositories on local disks act as a warm cache that can be rebuilt from the log. Storage design.
Each copy tracks the last version of the log index it has applied. On a read, it checks against the log and catches up first if the log has advanced, so Cursor describes reads on all replicas as fully consistent. The database-like design centers on ordered writes and consistent reads, with local copies recoverable from the log. Replication mechanism.
