Deepgram ships JS SDK v5 with breaking changes and a v4 migration path

Deepgram’s JS SDK v5.0.0 is now officially stable and live on npm. This major release includes breaking changes, and teams upgrading from v4 should review the migration guide before updating. The guide is complete and ready to support a smooth transition. Context
Deepgram's JavaScript SDK v5, announced as stable in March 2026, changes how applications connect to its speech services, so upgrading from v4 requires code changes. According to the migration guide, the client is now created with new DeepgramClient() instead of createClient(), and API methods moved into versioned namespaces such as listen.v1.media.transcribeUrl.
The guide also keeps transcription interfaces separate by version. Its v1 connection is listen.v1.connect, while a listen.v2.connect endpoint is marked new in v5.0.0 and its example selects the flux-general-en model. Existing integrations therefore need their initialization and method calls checked against the guide, which is also the place to confirm which interface a given model uses.
