Anthropic's October 2025 life-sciences release connects Claude to scientific information and reusable procedures. Connectors let it retrieve biomedical literature and laboratory records; skills package instructions, scripts and resources for defined tasks.
Those components address different parts of research work: finding the relevant evidence and following a specified procedure when working with it. Scientists can also create their own skills. The supported advance is a more connected research assistant, with access to source material and repeatable workflows. Accelerating discoveries and medicine development remains the broader ambition.
