Muse Spark 1.2 is among the most cost-efficient models at its intelligence level: $0.40 per Intelligence Index task at Meta's $1.25/$4.25 per 1M token pricing. That compares to $0.51 for GPT-5.6 Terra (max), $0.86 for Kimi K3 (max), and $1.18 for GPT-5.5 (xhigh) - with Grok 4.5 (high, $0.37) and GPT-5.6 Sol (medium, $0.39) the only cheaper models in its intelligence cluster. The step up from Muse Spark 1.1 ($0.29 per task) comes at unchanged per-token pricing and is driven by higher token usage per task, with input up ~53% and output up ~36%, especially concentrated in GDPval-AA v2

Context

An unchanged price per can still produce a higher bill per task. In its August 5 measurements, Artificial Analysis put Meta's Muse Spark 1.2 at $0.40 per Intelligence Index task, up from $0.29 for version 1.1, despite unchanged input and output rates.

The evaluator attributed the increase to greater text consumption and generation: input token usage rose about 53% and output usage about 36%. The chart reports a weighted average across tasks. It illustrates why a model's unit price alone cannot tell a developer what completing a workload will cost.

  • token — The chunk of text a model reads and writes in — roughly three-quarters of a word — and the unit AI usage is billed in.
  • benchmark — A standard public test set for comparing AI models — the shared scoreboards behind every "model X beats model Y" claim.
