Instant Apply

Relace's Instant Apply separates deciding a code change from assembling the updated file. A general coding model can return only the changed sections; a specialized model receives those edits and the original code, then merges them into a complete result. Relace's technical explanation describes training on examples containing all three parts.

This division avoids asking an expensive coding model to reproduce large amounts of unchanged text. It also gives incomplete edit snippets a dedicated interpretation step, which matters when a change renames a function and modifies its body at the same time.
