GPT-6 Sol and Luna are out. Not only are they a very significant improvement across the board, but also in writing and general "you know when you try it" quality. We are also permanently reducing the API price by 50% making both of them viable for a ton of new usecases and making your usage go further too, even on the subscriptions. And one more thing. We are loading a banked reset into all accounts of our Plus, Pro and Business users. Let's go! https://t.co/00DRh1sRrO
Context
OpenAI launched GPT-6 Sol and Luna, and Tibo Sottiaux, who posts on OpenAI's behalf, announced a permanent 50% reduction in the API price for both models alongside the release, saying it opens up new use cases and makes both subscription and API usage go further per dollar. He described the quality improvement as broad, including in writing, without citing a specific score.
OpenAI also credited a banked usage reset to Plus, Pro, and Business ChatGPT accounts. That mirrors a similar credit OpenAI gave paid subscribers during the earlier staggered rollout of GPT-6 Astra, where users received one banked reset for each day Astra remained unavailable to them.
