Context
An AI-generated simulation can pass its own checks while calculating a misleading physical result. NVIDIA's ALCHEMI study used toolkit documentation and skills to help Anthropic's Claude generate materials-simulation programs. All 45 generated pipelines avoided broken imports and nonexistent APIs, yet seven failed on GPU-specific execution paths. Study account.
Numerical validation exposed a separate problem: some lithium simulations used a temperature-control method that damped the computed diffusion by three to five times. Another program checked a unit conversion using the same incorrect constant it was meant to verify. The toolkit helps translate scientific instructions into code, but these examples show why the resulting measurements need an independent reference as well as execution tests.
