We’re open-sourcing the Ming-Image-0.1-Design family: • Ming-Image-0.1-Design, 6B • Ming-Image-0.1-Design-Layer, 6B • Two open-source Agent Skills: the Ling UI Design Skill and the Image-to-Editable-PPT Skill Ming-Image-0.1-Design ranks #1 among open-weight models on Artificial Analysis’s UI/UX Design leaderboard. 🧵

Context

InclusionAI, the Ant Ling account, open-sourced Ming-Image-0.1-Design, a 6-billion-parameter image model tuned specifically for UI and UX design work, along with a companion layer-extraction model and two open skills: one for UI design and one for converting an image into an editable presentation. Ant Ling says the model ranks first among models on Artificial Analysis's UI/UX design leaderboard.

Artificial Analysis's own benchmark data, covered in more detail in Artificial Analysis's own writeup, shows that ranking is design-specific rather than a general image-quality result: Ming-Image-0.1-Design sits at #17 of 81 models on the UI/UX design slice of the leaderboard, the largest gap between design-specific and overall scores of any model tested, while it ranks only #45 of 160 on the general text-to-image leaderboard. In practice, this is a model whose strength is layout and design fidelity specifically, not overall image generation quality.

Terms in this piece · Glossary
  • AI agent — An AI system that doesn't just answer once but works toward a goal in a loop — taking actions, reading the results, and deciding what to do next.
  • open weights — A model whose trained parameters are published for anyone to download and run — unlike API-only models you can access but never possess.
  • benchmark — A standard public test set for comparing AI models — the shared scoreboards behind every "model X beats model Y" claim.
