GLM-5.2 supports two thinking-effort levels: High and Max. For coding tasks, we recommend using Max effort to enable deeper reasoning and more reliable performance.

Z.ai's June 13, 2026 announcement opened GLM-5.2 to every GLM Coding Plan tier, including Lite, Pro, Max and Team. It separately scheduled API access, chatbot access and an MIT-licensed model release for the following week. The immediate change was therefore access through the coding subscription. Developers seeking a separate API integration or downloadable weights were being given a release promise, rather than confirmation that those distribution channels were already available.
